Lake Shasta, CA - Full Again
A 3.5 mile flight from below the Pit River Bridge; over the lake, the largest marina I could find, Beaver Island, and back passing people fishing and houseboats on the move. I had to fly early to beat the heat, so the sun is quite low and glaring. Flown with a 6S 7" QAV-S 40.766621°, -122.318759°

Igo, CA - Placer Rd Realignment (c1975)
Переглядів 288Рік тому
Placer Road was realigned to skip a narrow bridge at the bottom of the canyon over Clear Creek around 1975(?). The only info I've seen for this realignment is from a 1979 topo map (at end of video). Hopefully bridgehunter.com has a date for the bridge (site is currently down). The forest damage was from the Carr fire. Weed, CA - Nearly Empty Lake Shastina
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
A flight from the Lake Shastina Community Center over to the dam then back SW to view the low water level and Mt Shasta using a 7in QAV-S and frozen fingers. The $4.3M property adjacent to the community center with its own water slide park is listed on Zillow... pretty ridiculous interior. 41.535194°, -122.373669° Lake Shastina History: www.lakeshastina.com/history.htm About: ua-cam.com/users/R...
Redding, CA - Sundial Bridge
Переглядів 422Рік тому
An overlook flight down the Sacramento River for a pattern at the Sundial Bridge using a 7" QAV-S. The fall colors are breaking out and there's just a hint of snow on a distant peak (other than Mt. Shasta). The fishermen were a nice aesthetic touch. 40.589166°, -122.362836° Learn more: www.turtlebay.org/sundial-bridge About: ua-cam.com/users/RoadTripFPVabout
Williams, CA - Oat Valley from Windy Point
Переглядів 173Рік тому
A roadside flight from Windy Point over Oat Valley a third of the way from Williams to Clearlake on Leesville Road. The pickup at the end really slowed down I think trying to figure out what I was doing. Flown with a 7" QAV-S. 39.166784°, -122.400191° About: ua-cam.com/users/RoadTripFPVabout
Redding, CA - 2018 Carr Fire Neighborhood (4 Years After)
Переглядів 168Рік тому
A flight over a neighborhood that burned down in 2018, cleaned up, re-paved, and never rebuilt. The forest is slowly recovering despite the drought. For now the empty hillside lots make for fantastic FPV flying, especially at sunrise. About: ua-cam.com/users/RoadTripFPVabout

A long flight through the valley along Hat Creek up river from the "Stand By Me" bridge. Between fires and logging, the forests look pretty sad. Shockingly warm, dry, and little snow for mid-Feb. A circuit through the Coal Canyon just north of Oroville, CA. A beautiful place for a sunrise walk and flight... that said the lighting was TERRIBLE for recording. cool , well done, very nice flying
What are reasons for the three oak trees to be gone
Music is killing me , I was there in 62 ! Man you kick in my ptsd ! Cannot watch anymore . I’m a 82nd Airborne combat vet .
Why? This never should have happened!
I was there for a short time in the 80s
Watching it now, exactly the same.
THAT - was an awesome trip!
Great flying
It's too bad they had to take it all down. Good video nice drone.

That wasn't the Indian trail. How about you do some real hiking.
Grew up in Orland. Lots of great memories on this lake!!!!
I never have enjoyed a you tube video nor finished till now. Wow I'm like I wanna hike there just drive to take my dog. I live in L.A. Thank you for this awesome video
Um ,how about mute the drone !
Stunning views... I actually live close an I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me the name or closest mountain too the beginning of your video ?? Thank you in advance... I've been too most an never seen this area ..
The current bridge was opened to traffic in the fall of 1976. I was a student at San Francisco State University and remember coming home to visit my parents and driving over the new bridge for the first time. I know that old road looks really crooked and scary but everyone who lived in Igo and beyond learned to drive on that old road. For years you could see the wrecks of cars that didn't make some of those turns.
Are you originally from Igo?
So what did they do there? Are ppl still allot to talk about it? Or still too secret
I think is sad that there are no signs of deer and other wildlife.
Amazing to know that my ancestors ascended to the peak of Lesamo.
The Film High Plains Drifter was about the actual Minning Ghost Town of Bodie California.
Three great films High Plains Drifter the long riders and Brad Pitt as Jesse James
So how fast will Californians take drain it again?
Again,Thank you. Still after all these years I watch your drone footage. I’ve always wanted to see what the top of the morro looks like. I used to live on one of the sailboats you circled and the end of your footage. Always wondered what became of my boat. Now I know. I’ve gotten “closure” over the years and when I found your drone footage it seemed like it completed the closure, turning the page to a new chapter of life. Now, just fond memories remain.
Dang ya sadly it was most likely crushed :( the boat that is. Always sad seeing the neglected boats at the impound dock
Beautiful lake but the sky is totally geoengineered. Natural weather is still far off with all that crap in the air.
One year later it’s full! An incredible winter!!
Is this lake full now like Shasta is?
A beautiful sight to behold! We had an amazing winter, this is great to see.
I really love to watch your flights!
I'm pretty sure that I attended PLDC in some of those barracks.
It looks a lot prettier in your video, and probably in real life, I remember the film being really orange and saturated, it felt desert-y, I guess that's what it was going for.
That is sooooo neat!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love that video , been watching for years. All those power lines made me nervous though.
I wouldn't have flown that before digital FPV.
Great video man, been watching since your flight by SF golden gate.
That's a long time! ... 5/24/2013 .... had to look at my log to remember. :)
@@RoadTripFPV ya lol it’s been a while for sure!
It is always fun to watch your flights - Thanks!!!
attach a dildo and fly it 'in'!
hey look my house!!!
What drone are you using. I have the DJI AVATA FPV. I am having a blast. Nice video
I did my basic Army training there April 1957
In the late 90's I worked next door as a member of the 129th Security Police Detachment USAF. We worked closely with the Onizuka Police and Nasa Security. One of the best jobs I ever had, great times.
can you do another fly over now that Lake Shasta has more water I would think Shastina would too
That was awesome!
them props dont sound happy at all
Neat video, thank you. Would be great to see an update after all the storm to see the difference!!!
That is not a bunker. It is a gun turret. A bunker is a underground place to shield people from bombs and bullets during wartime. A bunker can also be constructed below your home in the basement or even lower during hurricanes or tornadoes. These were actually Army posts to guard against a foreign invasion during the war. They would be camouflaged with vegetation and trees to hide their locations. They can be found in many places along the coast including The Presidio in San Francisco, Pacifica, Half Moon Bay and further south to Fort Ord.
I grew up looking at this cube! Always wanted to go up there! Nice vid! 🤙🏾
